The Baker

I'm linking up with Jenny for
 Jenny Matlock
Come on over and enjoy the fun!
The prompt is in blue.

The Baker.

It wasn't his birthday.
Not his anniversary, as he wasn't married.
Or involved with anyone.

It wasn't any special day.

Just a ' I want candles on a cake!' day.

So, he mixed,  he poured, and he baked.

He frosted the cake and stuck 4 candles in it. Four being his lucky number.
He lit the candles.

He drew in a deep breath...
Closed his eyes....
and....

He never dreamed when he blew out the candles on his cake that it would start a fire,
he would meet the most gorgeous lady firefighter in the world.
And fall in love instantly.

  1. How fun an idea to bake a cake and put candles on it for no other reason then you want too. He must have some pretty strong blowing power if he started a fire lol. Loved that he met the lady firefighter. I guess it goes to show you can meet the love of your life anywhere ;-) Good job.

  2. This was such a fun little story. I love the idea of baking a cake and lighting candles "just because" - what a great idea. Love the happy ending :)

  3. LOL! That's the problem with drinking Bacardi 151 and blowing out candles. I'll never do that again! Great story Linda! So original and clever! Nicely done!

  7. I don't understand why I don't understand your funny stories, perhaps that's because I am not an insider. Dear Linda, life is a so called Hühnerleiter, that means chicken ladder do you have that also in your language, one day one is up the other day one is below, so was last time. Or I also compare life with staying on a surfboard, you crash and then go on it again, and continue riding the waves. Have a big hug from me my dear! Anja
